Friends of Worsthorne and Hurstwood

In early 2014 a group of friends from the village decided that they woud like to improve the play park in the village. Although not an easy task lots of fund raising was undertaken and everyone got involved. In March 2016 the new park was opened much to the joy of children in the village and school. After the success of the Worsthorne Park Improvement Project our community wanted to carry on to develop further areas within the village and so the ‘Friends of Worsthorne and Hurstwood’ group was formed. Run entirely by members of the village the ‘Friends’ are helping to unite the community with events such as The Queens 90th Birthday Picnic, Community Clean Ups and also by entering the Best Kept Village competition. Further events are planned during the year and can be found on our news page.
